Most people think that Tantra is “just that sex stuff.”  In fact, Tantra is one of the world’s oldest continually practiced Pagan traditions.  Virtually all of the mystical concepts that come from India  – Chakras, Kundalini, concepts of reincarnation, breathwork, yantra, mantras, etc. — were discovered and used by the Tantrics and absorbed into modern Vedic Hinduism.  In the ancient language of India, Sanskrit, dru means “tree” and vid means “knowledge.”  There is evidence that some ancient Tantrics move West into Europe, bringing with them the knowledge of trees.  The people with this knowledge were the dru-vids or druids.  Other sources, including Raphael Patai, author of The Hebrew Goddess, show that the ancient Tantrics influenced the early Jews and Kabalists.

In this ritual celebrating the full moon (which occurs on the following Tuesday), we will be honoring the God and the Goddess in traditional ways.  Each person attending will be asked to give a gift (the flower) and songs in order to receive the gifts of the deities.  This will be a practical, worshipful and learning experience.  {Note:  no one will excluded for the lack of funds.}
