Traveling Through Challenging Times
Dear Friends:
Ah, we are in interesting times!
I am spending my energy focusing as much on what gives me joy as I possibly can. I want to be aware of what is going on around me, and yet I want to keep my attention on what is working. I know that where attention goes, energy follows and so, I truly believe that my most important task is to appreciate whatever I can find in each moment.
To live what I teach is sometimes, and especially lately, like navigating a ship in a hurricane. Sometimes I have the wheel, sometimes I don’t. But I keep workin’ it as best as I can. And every tipsy wave, brings more and more wisdom, for which I am heartily grateful.
I discover that the present moment, more and more is a deliciously, warm haven for my soul, when the wind is whistling through my mind. This has brought me to an interesting intersection exploring the balance between determination and surrender; an interesting combination of energies, to be sure.
A determination to… stay focused on the present whenever I catch myself falter… and to feel my feelings, divining to address my needs, discovering unconscious patterns, without succumbing to the lies I’ve been accustomed to telling myself.
Surrenduring to the moment and what is… trusting in myself and my connection to Source, seeking the gift and to appreciate… letting go of outmoded thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors… discovering more joy in the journey.I know that I make the best choices from a more stable state of mind, and the better I can be of service, when I am at my best, on every level. This is the best contribution I can make. And I know that myself is the only part of this experience that I can actually manage.
I know I have all the tools I need to claim and reclaim my center, and this is a great opportunity for training! To lovingly care for myself and those I love … to keep my attention on love and the joy of the journey … to remain open to inspiration and creative expression …
poised for action..
And then there’s the outer reality…. This reflects our inner reality of beliefs, expectations, attitudes and perceptions. It’s challenges offering us an opportunity to better refine what we are vibing out there! Remember, you can manage where your attention goes, what you prefer, how you choose to experience what is before you.
Avoid the pitfall of getting stuck in fear with the reality of “what is.” Choose to move to the steps beyond responding with focusing on the solution and stepping into creating just that. We all have the power to do this. It is as simple as re-directing your thoughts in a more pleasurable vein. It gets easier and easier. And what have you got to lose?
