Article: Taking Affirmations To The Next Level For Absolute Manifestation!
How Affirmations Work
We have all heard of the value of affirmations But what do they do and how do they work? An affirmation is actually the same as setting an intention. An intention is an aim that guides action. When one sets an intention, we are informing ourselves that we want to set a course of thought and action to achieve a desired result.
The Bible says, “in the beginning was the Word.” This “word” is intention; the genesis of creation. Once we have set an intention, the body, mind and Universal Force set about to vibrate in such a way that we begin the attunement process necessary in order to manifest our desire. (All of creation is primarily vibration, you know).
We are where we are, in a situation that has caused us to have a new desire. Therefore, while we may have the desire, it is obvious that we are not yet attuned to its actual manifestation yet, otherwise we would have it already – and we are in a situation that shows us that this new desire is the next pathway to follow. By now, we also know that the journey is the most important part of the pathway towards that which we are wanting.
The Process Of Alignment
How does one begin this alignment? That is the attunement process; discovering what thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and perceptions need to be adjusted in order to better align with our desires.
While the Bible may say that the Word was first, it neglects to mention what was behind that word. One must actually begin with a thought. And with enough attention and emotional charge behind it, thoughts can become things. Therefore, we must begin with thought.
I know that I am often dealing with an internal chatter that goes on and on with thoughts that are not even mine! They have come from others thoughts and ideas, past reactions to experiences, and God only knows where else. I am sure I am not even aware of half of the thoughts that are running consciously and subconsciously. These thoughts can run like programs in the background effecting my choices and actions without my conscious awareness.
Nemes
In addition, there are thoughts called memes, which are beliefs or excuses that affect our choices as well — which are not even true! These have often come about as the result of a conclusion that we may have drawn due to an isolated experience. An example of some memes are: girls are no good at math… I’m too old… I’m scared… I don’t have the energy… I can’t afford it… It is going to take a long time… It is too risky… It is going to be difficult… I can’t lose weight… it’s genetic… etc., etc., etc.
I have been working for years on learning how to discipline those thoughts, and to focus as much as possible on what I want and what gives me pleasure, rather than dwelling on unwanted things. Of course, awareness of what is unwanted is an essential part of the process for manifesting, for in knowing what is unwanted, one begins the process of discovering what is preferred, in order to come up with a new desire. This is the process of personal growth and evolution!
However, sometimes people can get stuck on focusing on the fact that they are in the reality of what is unwanted. They look around them and all that they can see is this situation or thing that they don’t want! Yes, it is true. And there they are! But, if we want a drink of water, and we just sit there feeling increasing thirst, and don’t move… the arm doesn’t reach out to take the glass and bring it to our lips, our thirst will increase and become more and more uncomfortable!
The Elements Of Manifestation
In order to satisfy the desire for a drink, the following must happen:
1. Awareness of a need to be met.
2. The thought: I am thirsty.
3. The Solution: I need a drink.
4. The Form: Liquid – pick one. Water!
5. The Desire/Intention: I want a drink of water.
6. The Decision: I will do what is needed to meet my desire.
7. The Plan: What is needed in order to realize my desire?
8. Energy Movement/Action: reach for glass and bring it to the lips.
This may seem like a lot of steps, but this process within can take a second, or longer. It’s like learning to drive a car. At first it seems there are a lot of dials to monitor, things to do: manage the wheel, use the clutch, the gas pedal and the brake correctly, turn signals, watch the mirrors and traffic, adjust the music, etc. etc., etc. But with desire, practice, familiarity, and action, soon it becomes almost automatic and we are easily able to maintain all the necessary foci in order to operate a car easily!
What is it that causes this process to be quick or prolonged are the types of thoughts that we hold about it. Negative memes often impede our progress or can inhibit us from even beginning to explore getting our desires met.
Changing the Story
One way to address those thoughts that may inhibit our progress forward is to become aware or more conscious of such thoughts and discard them for new ones. While this is a part of the process, it may not be as important as we think.
What mostly needs to happen is that we must take charge of consciously generating more supportive thoughts more of the time. Affirmations do begin that process, but most people will set about consciously stating these desired intentions one or more times a day. This does tell your body mind that you are serious, and it will respond.
However, what about all the other thoughts all the rest of the day and night? Those old patterns are still running in place and subconsciously influencing your reality! How can one begin the process of managing those? There are many wonderful processes offered out there that can be helpful. One of my teachers, Byron Katie, has a wonderful process called “The Work” that helps to examine, refute and rework negative thoughts very effectively. I have been recommending her to my clients a long time.
I too, have been working on this stuff for years, and yet found myself with lots of thoughts that were still running my life in undesired ways. I wanted something quick and easy that could help me discipline my mind so that more of the thoughts, more of the time were the kinds of thoughts that would more consistently support my needs, wants and desires.
A New Game
Another magnificent manifested answer! This last weekend, I was inspired to create a new game that has already been a lot of fun and helps me to keep my thoughts more consciously oriented towards what I want a lot more of the time. I am choosing now to play this game in every moment that I remember to do so and already the results have uplifted my being to higher degrees of personal joy, passionate energy, and empowerment. From this I am feeling major surges of Universal Energy support flowing more fully through me.
Join me in playing this little game and write me with your results. Clinical trials are the best way to prove that a process works, so I NEED your feedback! Anonymous requests honored!
We know that to achieve what we desire, we must align with and become already what it is we are wanting! How we can do that is to imagine our lives already containing our desire and how our life is different. How do we feel different? How do we act different? How are we different in relation to others?
Imagining or pre-paving the desired outcome is often used to increase an athlete’s performance. When I work with my clients, I also guide them through this “rehearsal” process. But, the more we rehearse ~ all day, every day, the more we reinforce this new way of thinking, replacing our old, inhibiting thought patterns without having to deal with them at all! The way this works best is to imagine that we are bringing this dream into the all important NOW; the present tense; the present moment.
So, now, here is the game. It is called, “Now that I am….”
Every time you encounter something that triggers your desire, you begin with this sentence:
Now that I am wealthy I can…. ____(fill in the blank)______.
Example:
go to all the seminars and conferences that I want.
invest in wonderful projects that will make a difference in the world.
attract the best experts to help manifest my project.
take my daughter to Europe.
plan a great party!
Now that I am healthy I can… ____(fill in the blank)______.
Example:
move my body in all the ways needed to enjoy my life.
have all the energy I need to do anything!
play games with my kids.
inspire others to heal as well!
Now that I am Charismatic I can… ____(fill in the blank)______.
Example:
attract quality relationships in my life.
share the wisdom I have learned.
attract enthusiastic help for my projects.
inspire others to greatness.
Now that I am successful in my career I can…. ____(fill in the blank)______.
Example:
help others to create their dreams.
attract others to expand my business.
make other projects happen.
enjoy greater balance between work and play.
Now that I am popular I can…. ____(fill in the blank)______.
Example:
be a leader in my community.
have great, big parties.
explore greater depths of relationship and intimacy and caring.
learn more about love and better communication skills.
Once you have affirmed this thought in your mind, allow yourself to take a few moments to explore how it feels to enjoy this thing that you have just allowed yourself to receive. Your mind doesn’t know the difference between “reality” or an imagined reality.
Notice that a lot of the things that you say are often things that are actually already operating in your life or very possible in the NOW. Ergo, this process helps to open the mind to possibilities that are right there; that previous modes of thinking may have obfuscated.
Another version of this game….
One of the things that I love to do when I am shopping, is to look at things that I like and just say yes to them. In my mind, I have purchased them, and give myself the opportunity to enjoy having them – all of them. I deprive myself of nothing! Some things, I may choose to purchase, others I hold in my mental escrow account for another time. When I get home, I often find that I am glad that I didn’t actually make some of those purchases, but I feel so satisfied that I allowed myself to enjoy them in my imagination. It is sometimes even better than actually having them.
Receptivity
These games help manage the mind more consistently to align with the type of experience desired. From that alignment, one is more open and available to observe, receive, perceive and respond to the many opportunities that we will attract as a result.
The fine art of receiving is a counter-cultural challenge. We have been taught to believe that it is better to give than to receive. However, not all is as it seems. When giving, isn’t the purpose for the reaction of the receiver? That reaction is the gift received by the giver in the transaction. Without that reaction, the pleasure in the giving is diminished. So, who is really the giver?
As my dear friend and teacher, Joy Lisker, was dying of cancer, she reminded her friends repeatedly that the most important lesson she got from her illness was the experience of receiving. She attributed her illness to the necessity for her to learn that lesson. As her friends scrambled to support her in her healing, she was the most gracious receiver I have ever met. I pray that I can learn to do so as well.
Receiving is our birthright. The art of allowing that receiving is an essential lesson to master in the process of successful manifestation. What judgements do you have against receiving? They may be the very things that are blocking the life of your dreams! Be mindful of how you may be pushing even small things away. The more you get in the habit of receiving with gratitude, the more opportunities you will have to do so.
Attention
There is a Natural Law of Attraction that states, “Where attention goes, energy follows.” Most of us don’t realize that our attention is the most valuable commodity that we have. Our family, friends, co-workers, commercials, educators, etc. all want to attract our attention to their agenda, for it will increase the energy around their desired interest. As conscious, wise citizens, the more we consciously manage and direct our attention towards things that we desire, the more effective we will be in the world in manifesting them. When we create a strong foundation for our dreams to manifest, the results will reflect the quality of our attention to detail and our passionate desire.
Now we have the tools to build our dreams with quality, passion and empowerment! I am looking foward to hearing about your results with these few games and tips and I’ll keep you posted on mine. Happy imaginings!
